The Barbour Sapper is our most popular Barbour jacket, it is a military style waxed jacket available from us in black or olive. This is a heavyweight waxed jacket and suitable for autumn and winter use. It features a concealed hood in the collar and has inner and outer pockets. The jacket is generously cut to allow for sweaters and features a drawstring waist which makes it suitable for all shapes but you might consider going down a size!

As expected from Barbour a quality jacket with robust look and feel. Good solid zipper and delightfully warm. I really value the inside security pockets. I have long arms and the Large size (I had considered buying the XL) fits perfectly. The length makes it ideal (for me) as a wet weather jacket for wearing in the car -though bear in mind it is waxed so might leave a waxy deposit on your seat covering. I bought this coat to replace an older Barbour Chelsea jacket that is not waxed. The jacket fits well with plenty of pockets including a zipped and padded pocket on the chest (great for mobile and train ticket!). The jacket is very warm, has an adjustable waist drawstring and includes a rain hood which folds away into the collar. It’s a shame the rain hood is not of the same material as the jacket but handy nevertheless and I have made good use of it already. The jacket repels even the most heaviest of showers very well. The only thing which is missing is hand warmer pockets which would have been a good addition to this jacket. Gloves are still needed on very cold days. The service from Charles Hobson was first class and I received the jacket very quickly after ordering it and it was packaged with great care. I won’t hesitate ordering from Charles Hobson again and I would highly recommend his company.
